East Liverpool native Craig Wetzel was born breech and continues to observe the world from that perspective. He is a professional artist and author, which is why his car is falling apart. He has exhibited his art in the United States and Europe and prints of his work have sold throughout the world, but he’s still broke. Last year Craig wrote and illustrated For the Love of Pete, a book about a pinecone who tours East Liverpool and falls in love with a plastic flamingo. Because so many folks were titillated enough to buy it, Craig created Along the Little Beaver to sell this year and is hoping to broaden the sphere of his titillation. When Craig is not creating books, he reads books, collects books, binds books, and stares at books. He has written a weekly newspaper column and has worked as an illustrator, fine artist, muralist, animator, cartographer, graphic designer, and janitor. Craig enjoys public speaking, fly fishing and fly tying, making hats, collecting vinyl, playing guitar, bird watching, shooting things, and being a curmudgeon. He divides his time between his real-life home in East Liverpool and his fictional home in Sycamore Shadows, where he plans to retire.
