Building Open

When we began this journey into sheltering at home many weeks ago, we entered a new world of unknowns. At the forefront of our consideration is the safety of our staff and patrons.

Our Library is offering inside “grab and go” services. We have limited our occupancy at this time for better social distancing. For now, these services will be available from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday & Thursday, 10 am – 4 pm Tuesday & Wednesday and 9-1 on Friday.  The only entrance will be at our front doors. If you need the elevator, ring the bell at the door facing the Mary Patterson building and someone will be along to help you.

Returned materials should be put in the bookdrop near the back steps, or we will have a place to place materials inside. The returned materials will be quarantined for three days before being checked in. There will not be fines for this quarantine period.

Please be respectful of other patrons and maintain a safe distance of at least 6' from others including staff. All patrons are requested to wear a mask when coming to pick up materials Please note the following updates:

  • All in-person library programming has been canceled for now. Meeting rooms will not be available.
  • Genealogy/microfilm will not be available.
  • We will not have chairs and tables available.
  • Public restrooms will remain closed. The water fountain will be unavailable.
  • There will only be 4 computers available to ensure social distancing. Computers are limited to ½ hour per patron per day.

  • Don't forget that Wi-Fi is available near our building.
  • Digital resources remain available 24/7 for patrons’ use

We are taking sanitation very seriously. As we reopen the Carnegie Public Library, we want you to know that we have taken precautions to protect the health and safety of our staff and patrons.  We had a service deep clean our facility. As we reopen our Library, we will continue to follow the necessary guidelines set forth by the State of Ohio and our local Health Officials to ensure we continue to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

These precautions are made in the interest of public safety and the prevention of community spread. The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly, and the Carnegie Public Library will continue to monitor the situation and collaborate with public health officials.

If you are not comfortable coming into the library, curbside will still be available at this time. Just give us a call.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.  We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
