SYNC is an online program sponsored by audiobook publishers and AudioFile Magazine to introduce the listening experience to your young adult audience. SYNC offers two free complete audiobook downloads each week, for 14 weeks beginning May 7, for listeners ages 13+. Each week SYNC offers a contemporary young adult audiobook paired thematically with a classic audiobook title. SYNC is dedicated to introducing the listening experience to the young adult audience and demonstrating that required reading can be completed by listening.Check out the schedule and list of books offered here: http://www.audiobooksync.com/
UPDATE: You can check out periodicals on the same digital library website where you currently borrow eBooks, digital audiobooks and streaming video titles. All that is required is a valid library card and a NOOK account (you don't need a NOOK device). Titles can be read via a NOOK tablet device or Free NOOK Reading App available for a multitude of smartphones and tablets.
Do you or someone you know have an eBook reader or tablet? Point them in the direction of the library. The Carnegie Public Library offers you best-selling and classic audiobooks, eBooks, music, and video available 24/7 from the library’s eBook catalog, http://ohdbks.lib.overdrive.com/ or http://ohioebooks.org.
We have started having The Review digitized so that it is available online. There are many rolls of microfilm to digitize so it will be an long, ongoing project. The first ten rolls have been added to a website: http://carnegie.advantage-preservation.com. The dates are May 1, 2007-December 21, 2008.
We will add more dates as we can afford them. Donations to help with the project would be greatly welcomed as it costs $90 to have a roll digitized and added to the website. Any donation amount is welcomed and may be sent to the Carnegie Public Library, 219 E 4th St, East Liverpool, OH 43920, Attn: Mary Deem.
